I offer Bupa customers standard cataract surgery on the Full Pathway package option at Spire Cheshire Hospital .
This package includes your appointments before and after surgery, as well as your surgery and mono-focal lenses. It means you won’t use up your out-patient benefit or receive any additional bills from your surgeon (or anaesthetist, if you need one) for eligible treatment.

I have been a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon in Warrington since 1995. Besides developing the Medical Retina Service (Diabetes, Retinal Vascular disorders and Age Related Macular degeneration). I have been instrumental in ensuring safety and Quality as Clinical Audit and Clinical Governance Lead. I set up the Central Mersey Diabetic retinopathy Screening cluster in 2001. I am an Examiner and Trainer for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. I carry out voluntary surgical work in overseas locations including India, Ghana and Bolivia.

I have 35 presentations in scientific meetings and 25 publications in peer reviewed Scientific journals. My main are of interest is Medical Retina. In recognition of this I served on the editorial Board of the Indian Journal of Ophthalmology 2010-2015 and am currently International Adviser for Journal of Ophthalmology and visual Sciences
Cricket, squash, travel and reading semi fictional historic books.
Have been achieved Level 9 of the Clinical Excellence Award in recognition of Delivery, Managing, Developing my Clinical service together with my contributions to Research and training of all categories of health professionals.

The national benchmark for Ophthalmology is the per-operative complication rate following cataract surgery. A rolling , annual audit is carried out at Warrington and I have consistently performed better than average (0.6% versus 1.23%) with an average of 450 cataract surgeries performed annually.
