Dr Jayne Eaden is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and was the Clinical Lead for Gastroenterology (2009-19) at the University Hospital Coventry having been appointed in May 2002. Her endoscopic skills are exemplary, patient feedback is excellent and she regularly audits her work. In 2018 she was awarded the Presidents Medal for services to gastroenterology and the British Society of Gastroenterology.
She graduated from Leicester Medical School in 1992 with merit awards in pathology and medicine. She has research interests in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and patient information and was awarded a MD (Doctorate of Medicine) with distinction in 2000.
She has recently completed a 4 year term of office as the Secretary for the British Society of Gastroenterology. She sits on the general assembly (highest governing body) for European gastroenterology as the UK representative
She is co-author of the UK and American screening guidelines for bowel cancer surveillance in patients with IBD.
In addition to producing original research papers and review articles she has produced educational videos.
She also examines for the Royal College of Physicians.
