Dr Katz studied Medicine at Cambridge University (1985-1988) and University College London (1988-1991), qualifying in 1991.
Dr Katz was appointed as a Consultant in Diabetes & Endocrinology in 2002. From 2007-2012, Dr Katz was Head of The Endocrinology Department at Barnet and Chase Farm NHS Trust. In 2009, Dr Katz was elected as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) - an honour granted to consultants providing the highest standards of care. Since 2014, Dr Katz has worked for the Royal Free Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. In 2019, Dr Katz was appointed by the Royal College of Physicians as a Regional Advisor.
