The National Ophthalmic Database 8 year cataract surgery audit shows my Complexity Adjusted Posterior capsule rupture rate = 0.81% (benchmark = 1.1%). This means my complication rate was lower than the average complication rate of 2551 surgeons.
The National Ophthalmic Database 8 year cataract audit shows my Complexity Adjusted Visual Loss rate = 0.48% (benchmark = 0.9%). This means the low proportion of my patients who lost vision was even lower than the average of 2367 surgeons.
3 year audit of my macular hole surgery outcomes (2015-2017) showed a macular hole closure rate of 100% (benchmark = 95.8%). This means my macular hole surgery is highly effective.
12 month audit of my retinal detachment surgery (2016-2017) had a 93% success rate (national database benchmark =86.9%). This means I have a high success rate despite operating on many complex retinal detachment cases.
The above results confirm my surgery is highly effective and safe. I have multiple letters of thanks from my patients expressing a high level of patient satisfaction.
