He trained in medicine at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, with an intercalated BSc in Neurophysiology at Charing Cross Hospital and the Institute of Ophthalmology. Following junior medical posts in London and Guildford he entered general surgical training in London, Midhurst and Chichester. At the end of the training programme he spent 1 year training in advanced arterial grafting and aortic surgery at the Austin and Repatriation Medical Centre, Melbourne, Australia under the guidance of Professor Brian Buxton.
Special Interests include the use of arterial grafts for coronary artery surgery, minimally invasive thoracic surgery (including VATS lobectomy for lung cancer), audit and governance.
