About me

Dr Trevor Pickersgill is a Consultant Neurologist in Cardiff. Appointed in 2004 he is a General Neurologist with an interest in MS (officially) and headache and epilepsy (unofficially). He qualified from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1991 and trained in Medicine in Great Yarmouth, Swansea and Cardiff. He did research in Cardiff under Prof Mark Wiles into swallowing in neurological disorders, and helped run clinical trials in physiotherapy for MS and Beta-interferon in Secondary Progressive MS. He maintain a research interest in MS and has published widely along with the Cardiff academic MS team on the natural history, immunology and therapeutics of MS. He remains active in the BMA and was a previous UK JDC Chair, and now Chairs the Welsh Consultants Committee and Co-chairs the Organisation Committee. He has chaired the UK Consultants Conference for 4 years and is a member of BMA UK Council, Welsh Council and the UK Consultants Committee and Executive. He is the current Treasurer of the ABN.
