About me

As a Senior Consultant Paediatric Surgeon, I am the educational lead. I am also an Honorary Senior Lecturer with The St George’s Hospital Medical School, University of London. I teach undergraduate and postgraduate medical students on a weekly basis. I perform selection interviews, examine and lecture medical students several times each year.

I am chief examiner in Paediatric Surgery for the Royal Colleges of Surgeons, and I am the chairman of the Intercollegiate Board of Paediatric Surgery Examiners.

I represent the British Association of Paediatric Surgeons at the BMA Paediatric subcommittee meetings as well as at the Surgery subcommittee meetings.

I am a Senior Journal Article Reviewer with the Journal of Paediatric Surgery, and a visiting lecturer at Imperial College London.

I am a general paediatric surgeon with a special interest in neonatal, and gastro-intestinal surgery, as well as inguinoscrotal surgery and I provide vascular access for long term parenteral nutrition, or chemotherapy.

I perform appendicectomies, cholecystectomies and fundoplications laparoscopically when appropriate, and I perform many Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomies for assisted nutrition.

The more common neonatal conditions I manage include Hirschsprung’s disease, malrotation, atresias of the oesophagus, and bowel, and necrotizing enterocolitis.
