About me

Mr Alvarez has 30 years experience in Plastic Surgery. He qualified at the national autonomous University in Mexico City in 1970. In 1972 he started his general surgical training at St Georges Hospital and the Royal Marsden Hospitals. In 1974 started his plastic surgery training at the Middlesex Hospital London, the Hospital for Sick Children Great Ormond Street, University College London, and the Plastic Surgery unit at Queen Mary’s Hospital Roehampton In 1978 he returned to Mexico city and attained the Board examination in Plastic Surgery. He worked as a Plastic Surgeon at the Hospital general de Mexico where he developed techniques for facial reconstruction with the sternocliedomastoid muscle and published papers on the subject in the British Journal of Plastic Surgery. In 1981 he returned to the UK and worked at University College Hospital and The Royal Free Hospital and in 1995 worked as a consultant plastic surgeon at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow Essex until 2002.
