About me

Mr. Kasaby is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon recently retired from Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

He is a Medical Director at The BMI Southend Private Hospital, an independant sector healthcare provider at Southend. He is also a founder and director of LaserSight Essex, a highly reputable Laser Eye Surgery provider.

Educated in Cairo, his postgraduate medical training was in various highly reputed eye centres in the UK ,mainly Birmingham and Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. His special interests are corneal, cataract and refractive surgery and he is recognized as one of the area's top corneal transplant specialists. He participated in a Corneal and Refractive Surgery Fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. He has contributed several scientific publications and research on cataract and refractive surgery to peer-reviewed journals and has given numerous lectures, presentations and advanced training courses on the subject. Mr Kasaby is one of the first surgeons to use Multifocal lens implants in Europe and has a long history of investigating different types of lens implants to suit different patients' needs. He is also a prolific high volume cataract surgeon and has demonstrated his skillful techniques to his professional colleagues during live surgery in international scientific meeting on numerous occasion.

Mr Kasaby is fully registered with the GMC and is on the UK specialist register for eye surgeons.
