Highly qualified and experienced senior consultant gastroenterologist. Having qualified in India in 1980 and been awarded the postgraduate degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD), I obtained MRCP in 1986, FRCP in 1999. Awarded Doctor of Medicine (University of Southampton) in 1993 for research on aetiopathogenesis of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease. Worked as a fellow at the Royal Free Hospital in London and subsequently as a senior registrar in gastroenterology in Edinburgh before taking up post as a consultant gastroenterologist in Stafford where I worked for nearly 20 years before resigning. Was instrumental in modernizing gastroenterology and endoscopy services in Stafford. Was the key provider of endoscopy training in diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower GI endoscopy, colonoscopy and ERCP. Set up Oesophageal physiology lab. Presented many papers at national and international conferences and published numerous papers in prestigious international journals. Was the lead clinician for GI services and made stirling contribution to elevating standards of care. Was an accredited Bowel Cancer Screening Programme colonoscopist based at the University Hospital of North Midlands. Was an acknowledged clinical leader. Now retired. Work at Ramsay Rowley Hospital where I provide clinical consultation and endoscopy services. Audits have shown excellent clinical and patient satisfaction outcome data.
