About me

Mr McLauchlan has developed, on the elective side, principally a lower limb practice with a major interest in hip and knee arthroplasty. He has built upon his training in Edinburgh and Adelaide and now provides expertise in the areas of primary hip and knee replacement, joint replacement in the young patient, resurfacing hip arthroplasty, arthroplasty in the dysplastic hip, unicondylar knee arthroplasty, revision arthroplasty, knee and hip arthroscopy and ACL reconstruction.

His training in trauma has principally been at the Orthopaedic Trauma Unit at the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh. A third of his NHS time is now dedicated to the trauma service in Preston. His major interests are intramedullary fixation of fractures, the role of arthroplasty in trauma and lower limb injuries.
