Dr Simon Ball is clinical service lead for nephrology and an associate medical director at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. He is an honorary senior research fellow at the University of Birmingham and currently is President of the British Renal Society.

Dr Ball's research is both clinical and translational. It includes the development and evaluation of biomarkers in chronic transplant rejection, transplantation across ABO blood groups and risk factors for acute kidney injury.
