Mr. Waldock was a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital (L&D) from 2001-2019 and specialised in cataract surgery and the comprehensive management of patients with all forms of glaucoma.
He was awarded a Doctorate in Medicine in 1998 following his research into the clinical evaluation of patients with glaucoma using digital imaging technology.
Mr. Waldock has been a prominent educator and trainer within the East of England, holding the post of Training Programme Director for Ophthalmology within the region for five years from 2010. He continues to be a microsurgical skills course trainer at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, a position which he has held for the past twelve years. He also has a passionate interest in the research, innovative design and manufacture of reusable ophthalmic surgical instrumentation.
