I graduated from Queens University of Belfast, I completed my surgical training in Northern Ireland deanery with a fellowship at St. Marks Hospital in London and Mount Sina Hospital in Toronto, Canada.
Since appointment I have developed pelvic floor surgery and laparoscopic colorectal surgery in Northern Ireland. I provide a regional service for pelvic floor disorders.
I have been the regional lead in endoscopy and modernised the service in our region as well as being instrumental in introducing bowel cancer screening to Northern Ireland.
As well as a full time clinical practice I also carry out my duties as the Head of School of Surgery in Northern Ireland.

General Surgery, cool-rectal cancer, inflammatory Bowel Disease, hernia (inguinal/umbilical/incisional), laparoscopic Surgery, Pelvic Floor Disorders.
