My interests are Breast Cancer, Colorectal Cancer and I have a special interest in metastatic disease and in particular target liver treatments such as SIRT, ChemoSat and DC Beads.
I graduated in Medicine from the University of Glasgow in 1988 and after working as a junior doctor in the UK, spent four years in Australia, working firstly in General Medicine and then latterly at advanced trainee level in Radiation and Medical Oncology in Sydney at St George Hospital. I was appointed to the post of Consultant Medical Oncologist at The Christie Hospital, Manchester, UK in 2002.
As a member of the Breast and Colorectal Cancer Groups at The Christie, I am closely involved in the Breast and Colorectal Cancer Research Programmes and am principal investigator in national and international trials at The Christie. I am Lead Clinician for Selective Internal Radiation Therapy for liver tumours and the targeted liver tumour programme at The Christie.
I am an educational supervisor within the junior doctor programme and a lecturer in the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes through the University of Manchester and The Christie NHS Foundation Trust.
My areas of special expertise are breast and colorectal cancer and targeted liver therapies.
