Dr Mounes Dakkak has been a Consultant Gastroenterologist for over 20 years. He has a wide range of expertise in the specialty and he is an experienced upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopist in both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
He served as a Clinical Director for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy in the NHS hospital till 2008.
In the Yorkshire Region, he was the Training Programme Director for Gastroenterology 2003-2009 and since 2013 he has been the Royal College of Physicians Regional Adviser for Service Quality.
At a national level, he served as the Treasurer of the British Society of Gastroenterology 2008-2013. He has been the Lead Specialist for the Specialist Certificate Examination in Gastroenterology since 2012 and is one of the Chairs for the PACES of the MRCP (UK) examination.
