Mr Redmill was appointed Consultant Ophthalmologist at Lincoln County Hospital in 2001. His special interests include paediatric ophthalmology, ocular motility and squint. He has regularly audited cataract surgery for Lincoln County Hospital over several years resulting in consistent improvements in outcomes, surpassing national standards.
He qualified in 1987 from Cambridge. He has been a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists since 1991. His higher specialist training was completed in London including Moorfields Eye Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital and St Georges Hospital. He has also trained in the St John Ophthalmic Hospital in East Jerusalem.
Mr Redmill has designed several patient information leaflets for various eye conditions, believing that it is essential for both patient and carer to understand each other, in order to improve communication, cooperation, satisfaction and clinical outcome.
