About me

Lou started her training in psychology in 1996 and after graduating with a BSc (Hons) in 1999, she obtained a Certificate, Advanced Certificate, Diploma and MSc in Counselling Psychology before gaining Chartered Psychologist status with the Doctoral Qualification in Counselling Psychology in 2005.

Lou worked for 16 years as a Psychologist in the UK mental health system in NHS Primary Care and Secondary Care Community Mental Health Teams and in 2020 she moved to work full-time as a Private Practice Consultant.

Lou has engaged in further training in the following areas: Couples Therapy; Child Psychology & Child Counselling; Hypnotherapy; Equine Assisted Therapy; Cognitive Analytic Therapy; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy; Dialectical Behaviour Therapy; EMDR, Mindfulness and Compassion Focused Therapy.
