I have worked within the Private and Public sectors (including in the NHS). I have experience of working in a wide variety of clinical and research contexts within the UK.

Within the NHS have I worked at many NHS Trusts such as the St Thomas ‘ and Guys Pain Management Unit, as well as within IAPT services.

My qualifications include an MSc in Health Psychology and an MSc in Organisational Psychology and my PhD Doctoral thesis is on Occupational Stress and Psychological Wellbeing.

I have a background as a lecturer and taught on both undergraduate and Masters course in both these fields. Additionally, I have worked as a Business Psychologist running Assessment centres, Conflict resolution and Team Building sessions. This has given me a broader understanding of the impact of Organisational factors on an individuals’ overall Wellbeing.

MY APPROACH TO PRACTICE:

I use evidence-based therapy, in line with NICE Guidelines to treat adults 18 plus across a diverse range of mental health and psychological difficulties.

I take an integrative approach to therapy. I specialise in providing
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) - Compassionate Mind Training
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

I believe working collaboratively with each individual ensures the therapy I deliver is bespoke and tailored to meet each persons’ specific needs. I value the importance of developing a sound, trusting therapeutic relationship. I have found this enables therapy to be effective and draws on the individuals’ strengths and resilience. Allowing the therapeutic arena to be a safe and comfortable space assures a person feels able to share difficult and challenging issues.
My goal is to empower the client with skills and techniques enabling them to move forward in life, and to maintain progress after therapy is completed.
