I am a fully qualified and highly specialised psychodynamic and art psychotherapist. I have over 15 years' experience in the NHS and in voluntary sector as well as in my private practice.
I value kindness, compassion and social justice in my work as well as in my private life, and my professional approach is rooted in my genuine interest in each individual's stories. My therapeutic style is trauma-informed, responsive, exploratory and creative. I base my work on the understanding that all human experiences are multi-sensory, and am learning more about body-based work and the neurobiology of trauma.
I work primarily with individuals (children, young people and adults) and family units.
Areas of interest
I have particular interest in working with a range of issues which include, but are not limited to, loss and bereavement, complex trauma (in particular developmental and relational trauma), relationship difficulties at home and/or at school/work, sexual abuse, physical abuse, domestic abuse, impact of personal issues (including trauma, abuse and addiction) on relationships, loneliness, identity issues, human rights abuses, vicarious and secondary traumatisation, and working with minority groups including refugees and asylum seekers.
