Overview

About me

Dr Matteo is an experienced consultant in sport & musculoskeletal medicine. He is an expert in problems affecting the musculoskeletal system, and his specialist interest is in complex bone, muscle, tendon & joint pain of unknown cause. He is passionate about treating complex musculoskeletal problems, such as back, neck, shoulder and jaw pain (temporomandibular dysfunction).

He is the only dual-trained sport medicine consultant and osteopath (i.e. DO) in the UK, ensuring his unique approach to treatment is truly integrated, functional and holistic. His approach combines the best of traditional, complementary and regenerative medicine, where he uses shockwave therapy and cutting-edge orthobiologic treatments such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to treat chronic pain and arthritis.

Dr Matteo is a consultant at University College London Hospitals (UCLH) and clinical lead for the department of musculoskeletal medicine at the Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine (RLHIM) on Queen Square. In addition to his NHS and private work, he is the lead doctor at Fulham FC Academy and medical officer for England Boxing.

He is passionate about teaching, and he is the Training Programme Director for Sport & Exercise Medicine in London. He is also honorary lecturer and examiner at University College London (UCL) Medical School, and sits on the examination committee at the Faculty of Sport & Exercise Medicine (FSEM) in Edinburgh.
