Appointed as an orthopaedic consultant in 1998 I specialise in upper limb, particularly shoulder and elbow.
My practice includes arthroscopic surgery and open surgery, including joint replacement (I am one of the highest volume shoulder replacement surgeons in the country).
In addition, I am a national level examiner in orthopaedic surgery and I instruct on arthroscopic courses for trainees.
I am a member of the British Elbow & Shoulder Society.

With an increasing number of shoulder replacements (both anatomic and reverse) each year I collect movement data pre and post operatively using a computer based sensor.
Keen golfer and fly fisherman both of which allow me time away from the focus of a hospital and takes me to some very beautiful parts of the United Kingdom

I give regular talks to GPs , Physiotherapists and students on conditions of the shoulder and elbow. Early treatment especially use of cortisone.
