About me
I qualified in medicine in 1986 from Oxford University and the University of London. After training in centres of excellence in London, I was appointed Consultant in 1998.
From 2011-18, I was Clinical Director of the SW Thames Renal & Transplantation Unit, one of the largest Renal Units in the UK.
In 2017, I jointly set up a new renal service at Frimley Park Hospital to serve the needs of patients with renal disease in west Surrey.
My practice covers all areas of nephrology including acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, hypertension, glomerulonephritis, cardio-renal disease, dialysis, vasculitis and transplantation.
I maintain a active research interest and in 2014 was appointed Reader in Renal Medicine in the University of London.
Areas of interest
I have particular specialist interests in transplantation and medico-legal work.
Since 2011, I have Chaired the Standards Committee of the British Transplantation Society and, in this role, have co-authored and edited more than 15 national guidelines.
I am a member of the Medicolegal Committee of the British Medical Society and numerous national committees in the fields of nephrology and transplantation.
