About me

I am a Counselling Psychologist, with over 10 years experience of working in the NHS and the third sector. I am Chartered with the British Psychological Society and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.

I work in a way that is tailored uniquely for each client drawing on a number of evidenced-based approaches including EMDR, depending on your needs and working towards your goals together.

You may simply be looking to create a reflective space in your week to look and think differently about your current situation and life. Or maybe you want to work collaboratively in a focussed and goal-oriented way on improving wellbeing, strengthening your self-care strategies or understanding and managing stress and anxiety better. I consider myself to be kind, compassionate and gently challenging and aim to create an environment in which clients can move towards changing their lives for the better, learning new skills and gaining insight.

Below I have included some testimonials from previous clients to give an idea of how I work:

“A big thank you for being there with your calm and quiet approach, your support has been invaluable. I am now less restrained by my anxiety, thank you” (Female, 47)

“Thank you for everything you have done for me over the past months, things have really started looking up like I had never before thought possible and I’m still getting used to these new feelings of optimism for the future. I have new ways of coping now and I feel stronger than I ever have before.” (Male, 18)

“Thank you for allowing me to open up the depths of my very being to you, and for listening to my pain so carefully with gentleness and compassion. You have been a window of hope for me” (Female, 65)

“Thank you so much for all of your help. I am looking forward to progressing further with everything that you’ve taught me” (Male, 38)
