About me

I am currently on a temporary break from my private practice until the beginning of 2023 and therefore I will not be able to respond to new referrals until this time.

I am an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist with over ten years of experience helping adults, couples and families across different NHS and private settings.

Have you found yourself feeling overwhelmed, stressed or perhaps flat and not yourself? Have things felt tough for so long you feel lost amongst it all? I can help you to make sense of your experiences and learn how to cope better with the challenges you have been facing.

How can I help?

I am currently offering both short and longer term therapy. I use an integrative approach to therapy. This means I will work flexibly alongside you to adapt our therapy to your needs, preferences and current circumstances.

I predominantly use a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approach but I will draw on my experience of a range of different evidence based therapies depending on what best fits your difficulties and what complements you as a person. This includes Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy and Mindfulness based therapy.

I understand that the idea of therapy can be a daunting prospect. I aim to create a non-judgmental and containing therapy space using compassion and empathy to help you feel safe and comfortable enough to get the most out of our time together. Through therapy I hope to empower you to move towards your personal goals and ultimately be able to live a more fulfilling life in line with your strengths and values.

What next?

The first step is to send me a message letting me know what you would like help with and any questions you may have. From here, I can send you more information or we can arrange a free 15 minute telephone consultation to briefly discuss what you are looking for.

Following this, if you are happy to, we will set up our first appointment (called a consultation) together. During this appointment we will talk in some more detail, at your pace, about what brings you to therapy and what you would like help with. If you are happy to continue we will set up some therapy sessions together. Sessions will generally occur at the same time every week or fortnight.

Areas of interest

I have experience supporting adults with a range of difficulties including anxiety (e.g. worry, OCD, phobias), stress, low self-esteem, low mood, depression, relationship difficulties, unusual or confusing experiences and overcoming difficult or traumatic experiences. I have a particular interest in supporting individuals experiencing distress during the perinatal period. This includes anxiety or low mood during or after pregnancy, support with birth trauma, or support adjusting to the process of becoming a parent.
