I offer Bupa customers standard cataract surgery on the Full Pathway package option at Spire Shawfair Park Hospital, Spire Murrayfield Hospital Edinburgh .
This package includes your appointments before and after surgery, as well as your surgery and mono-focal lenses. It means you won’t use up your out-patient benefit or receive any additional bills from your surgeon (or anaesthetist, if you need one) for eligible treatment.

over the past 12 months, December 2019 to November 2020 I performed 195 cataract operations. my audited outcomes based upon all returned post op. refraction forms which comprised 55% (107/195) of all my surgery is as follows:
a visual outcomes; 96% (103/107) of patients have a best corrected (after specs) visual acuity of better or equal to 6/12 (benchmark figure 91% national cataract audit).
b capsular rupture rate; the most commonly sited measurement of surgical dexterity over the past 12 months is 0% (0/195) (benchmark figure 1.1% national cataract audit).
