About me

Dr Lubna Karim is a Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist, who previously worked as a CAMHS consultant in the NHS and is now a Consultant at The Priory, Roehampton.

As a Child Psychiatrist, she is a medical doctor and is able to diagnose conditions and prescribe medications.

Dr Karim qualified in medicine from Guy's, King's and St Thomas' medical school (King's College London), where she was awarded the Barber's Academic Scholarship.

After two years as a junior doctor working in general medicine and surgery she pursued specialist training in general psychiatry at the Royal Free Hospital, London and University College Hospital, London.

She then completed her specialist training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry in South West London, St George's Hospital training scheme.

Alongside her clinical work, she was an examiner and lecturer at UCL Medical School in the division of Child Psychiatry.

Dr Karim lives in Surrey and has two children of her own.

Dr Karim is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and holds full registration with the General Medical Council.

Dr Karim's qualifications include:
- Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych)
- Specialist Register for Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (GMC)
- Approved Clinician and S12 (2) doctor within the Mental Health Act 1983
- Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists Development Peer Group
- Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) trained
- General Medical Council Full Registration
- Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), University of London
- Bachelor or Science (BSc), University of London
- Barber's Academic Scholarship (University of London)

Areas of interest

My areas of special interest are depression, anxiety, autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

I am currently only accepting new patients for ADHD and Autism assessments.

I offer diagnostic assessments and treatments for these conditions in accordance with NICE guidelines.

Please note that I do not treat eating disorders, self-harm or tics in my private practice.
