About me

Dr. Lele, Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist qualified as a doctor in 1994. She has been a CAMHS Consultant for over 10 years, Dr. Lele’s current role in NHS is in a CAMHS ADHD Service. She previously led an Adolescent CAMHS Service in West London.

Dr. Lele offers expertise in assessment and treatment of ADHD, psychosis, mood and anxiety disorders as well as eating disorders amongst other conditions in young people.

Dr Lele combines her knowledge and skills in medication-based treatment with talking therapy skills acquired through her long experience. She finds her young clients, especially teenage, benefit from use of pragmatic techniques from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. She is able to apply Systemic and Psychodynamic therapy approaches in her work with children and their families. She works in collaboration with other colleagues when required.

Dr. Lele has experience in supporting patients during transitions from children’s mental health services to adult services, including maintaining mental health stability during University transfers after A-level examinations. Aside from being a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, Dr Lele is also recognised on the GMC register as an Adult Psychiatrist, she also offers assessments for young adults presenting with mental health concerns up to the age of 25.

Dr. Lele speaks multiple languages fluently viz English, Hindi and Marathi. She has working knowledge of Urdu and comprehends Punjabi and Gujarati. Her work in the mental health sector in India (Mumbai) between 1995 and 2002 and subsequently as a NHS psychiatrist in West London has afforded her the sensitivity and understanding required to provide high quality work in a transcultural context.

Mood Disorders: Depression and Bipolar Disorders.

Anxiety Syndromes: Generalised Anxiety, Phobias, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Eating Disorders: Anorexia, Bulimia and Binge Eating problems.

Early-onset psychosis: This may include prodromal presentations, schizophrenia, schizo-affective disorders.

Emerging Personality Disorders, Adjustment Disorders and Self-harm in context of life events such as parental separation/bullying at school.
