About me

I am a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon based at the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead, London. Prior to being appointed as a Consultant, I completed advanced Fellowship training at University College Hospital and St Thomas’ Hospital, as well as at the internationally renowned St Mark’s Hospital. This has allowed me to develop significant experience in the operative and non-operative management of complex inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal failure, polyposis and primary and recurrent colorectal cancer. My clinical work now primarily involves the management of colorectal cancer and small intestinal neuroendocrine tumours.
In addition to my clinical practice I am firmly committed to surgical academia and completed a PhD at Imperial College London under the supervision of Lord Ara Darzi and Professor Jeremy Nicholson in 2013. Following this I secured a position as NIHR Clinical Lecturer in Surgery, which allowed me to maintain an active research portfolio alongside my clinical training. I currently supervise a PhD student on a project focused on rectal cancer radiation response mechanisms.
Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, reading and cooking. I am married to Pary, who is a GP, and we have two daughters, Marina and Alexia. I am passionate about music and the arts in general, and when time permits I enjoy trips to the theatre or to view exhibitions of interest.
