About me

Dr Veronique Bataille has worked as a consultant dermatologist in London and Hertfordshire for 25 years. She worked as a Senior Lecturer at Barts and the London from 1996 to 2003. There she was the clinical and academic lead on melanoma. She then moved to West Herts NHS Trust in Hertfordshire where she continued her interest in melanoma and skin cancer where she was the chair for the skin cancer network. She also is a member of the multidisciplinary melanoma clinic at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre in Northwood. Dr Bataille is in the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre melanoma clinic for stage 3 and 4 melanoma every thursday. She works with Dr Paul Nathan, consultant oncologist, for the management of melanoma patients both in the NHS and privately. She is a Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant Dermatologist at St Thomas Hospital, King's College, London where she leads the skin research at the Twin Research Unit with successful research programs. She continues an active academic career in melanoma research and the genetics of skin diseases and teaches regularly medical students and postgraduates either in clinics or during lectures. Dr Bataille also started a large gut microbiome study in melanoma patients receiving immunotherapy.
