About me

Hugh Gilbert studied medicine at St Andrews and Cambridge Universities and graduated in 1982. He trained in general urology in South West England and was appointed as Consultant Urological Surgeon to the Gloucestershire Hospitals in 1996.

Mr Gilbert has a wide experience in all aspects of urology including:

Urinary symptoms in men and women
Urinary tract infection
Genital lumps and bumps
Erection difficulties

Mr Gilbert's main speciality is in the investigation and management of urological cancer such as prostate, bladder, kidney, testis and penile cancers. He is particularly interested in guiding people through the decision making that relates to the treatments currently available for these diseases to obtain the best possible treatment wherever it is available.
Mr Gilbert provides a service for children with urological problems, including advice regarding circumcision and testicular problems.
