I am a highly experienced and down to earth Chartered Clinical Psychologist with 20 years of experience. I spent the majority of my clinical career in a senior role and I was a Consultant Psychologist in charge of an Adult Mental Health Psychology Service within the NHS.
I have a wealth of experience of providing specialist psychological assessments and treatment for a wide range of difficulties. These include, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, stress, anxiety, panic, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder and many more. I am experienced in a wide variety of psychological interventions. However, I tend to use an integrative approach. This means I do not rely on one approach, I tailor my intervention to best suit the needs of my individual clients. I also believe having a good therapeutic relationship, compassion and at times humour, are very important in therapy.
I strive to keep abreast of psychological research and development to ensure I offer the best standard of care to my clients.
Areas of interest
Anxiety; Stress; Panic Disorder; Health Anxiety; Social Anxiety; Post-Traumatic Stress; Obssesive Compulsive Disorder; Depression; Sleep Problems; Trauma; Chronic Pain
Current NHS consultant posts held
In addition to my private practice, I will be working within the NHS Forth Valley from September 2020. This will be as a Chartered Clinical Psychologist on a part-time basis.
