I am a Consultant Dermatologist at the Western Infirmary in Glasgow. I set up the West of Scotland Mohs micrographic surgery service in Glasgow, the first such service in Scotland. We have treated 2500 patients since its inception. The main part of my job involves seeing and treating patients with skin cancer but I also see general dermatology patients

I supervise research in skin cancer. I am also involved in clinical trials of new oral drugs to treat advanced basal cell carcinoma, and trials in actinic keratosis. I also assist with the trial of new drugs for treating melanoma. We run a surveillance clinic for renal transplant patients. My own MD project was in atopic dermatitis.
List of recent publications includes papers on Mohs surgery, skin cancer in renal transplant patients, melanoma research and hedgehog pathway inhinitors for treating advanced basal cell carcinoma.
