I graduated from the University of London Westminster Hospital in 1984 and for a further three years undertook my basic medical training. I commenced specialist training in haematology in 1988 within the North West Deanery, the training rotation being based, within the teaching hospitals of Greater Manchester.
I undertook a reseach project during my training and was awarded an M.D in 1996. My first consultant post was at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport (1995-2006) and for professional reasons and career development, I moved to a consultant post at Salford Royal Hospital in 2006. My interests within haematology are wide and encompass general, non-malignant diseases, including coagulation disorders in addition to haemtological oncology.
