About me

Mr Ioannis Aktselis is a Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon, specializing in Foot and Ankle Surgery and Lower Limb Reconstruction. His NHS base is at the Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.
After completing his medical studies in Czech Republic, Mr Aktselis undertook his Specialty Training in Trauma and Orthopaedics at Athens’s KAT Major Trauma Center, which is the largest Trauma Center in Greece. He subsequently continued his residency at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals and North Middlesex University Hospitals in London, gaining further experience in all aspects of Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery. In 2015, Mr Aktselis obtained the Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS) diploma.
He has fellowship experience from various UK centres of excellence including a Trauma Fellowship at Queens Medical Centre at Nottingham and a Foot and Ankle and Limb Reconstruction Fellowship in Bristol Royal Infirmary in Bristol. Mr Aktselis has also completed a visiting Foot and Ankle and Limb Reconstruction Fellowship in Tampa General Hospital under Dr Roy Sanders in United States, Tampa, Florida.
Mr Aktselis has obtained a Master of Science, MSc, in Health Management from the Hellenic Open University of Patras in 2011. Mr Aktselis completed his Doctoral Thesis, PhD, with distinction in Orthopaedics from the University of Athens Medical School in 2015.
Mr Aktselis has a strong academic background having published several scientific articles in peer reviewed journals which have been cited extensively and he has presented in National and International Orthopaedic Conferences. His strong interest in teaching and training has been acknowledged as he has been awarded the Trainer of the Month In Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust in 2017.
His aim is to provide the best clinical care with an evidence based approach to all aspects of foot and ankle surgery.
