About me

I was a higher surgical trainee in the Mersey region. In 1997 I was appointed as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Liverpool and an Honorary Consultant Surgeon at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital and worked on the regional pancreatico-biliary unit. In March 2002 I moved to The Mid Cheshire NHS Hospitals Foundation Trust. I now work as a Consultant general and gastroenterological Surgeon in a District General Hospital. I undertake a wide range of surgery for both upper and lower gastrointestinal disease, whilst maintaining a particular interest in biliary and laparoscopic surgery. I also undertake a colonoscopy and ERCP list each week. I spend one day a week at the University Hospitals of North Staffordshire, the regional pancreatico-biliary unit.

Areas of interest

Biliary and pancreatic disease; Cholecystectomy; Endoscopy - upper GI; Endoscopy - lower GI; Gastroenterology; ERCP (Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography); Laparoscopic procedures ('keyhole surgery'); Hernias, including inguinal hernia
