About me

Prof Joffe has been a consultant medical oncologist since 1994 having trained at The Royal Free Hospital in London, The Royal Marsden Hospital and Institute of Cancer Research in London / Sutton, and then St James University Hospital in Leeds.

His current NHS practice is based in Huddersfield and Halifax with sessions of specialist activity in Leeds, where he is one of three consultants running one of the largest testicular cancer and germ cell tumour practice in the country.

Prof Joffe's major clinical interests are in breast cancer, testicular cancer and Germ Cell tumours.

Prof Joffe provides personal and individualised care to his patients and has very high patient satisfaction scores in his regular 360 degree assessments.

He is happy to provide second opinions.

He is able to offer chemotherapy to private patients at home (through Health Care at Home), in hospital at Spire Elland, or NOVA in Leeds, or within the chemotherapy facilities of Calderdale & Huddersfield NHSFT.

He is a recognised practitioner for all of the major health insurance providers within the UK.

He is also able to offer self-pay options for cancer care and cancer treatments including to overseas visitors.

Outside of clinical care, Prof Joffe has been the chairman of his professional association, The Association of Cancer Physicians 2011 - 2017, and he chaired the Joint Speciality Committee for Medical Oncology at the Royal College of Physicians until 2018 and, previously, the Joint Collegiate Council for Oncology.

He was the chairman of the Testicular Cancer Clinical Studies Group (CSG) at the National Institute for Cancer Research (NCRI) for 6 years and continues to lead and develop clinical trials in this area.

He was awarded a visiting professorship in the University of Leeds in 2013, for his research and leadership achievements.
