About me

**Covid -19. Currently, due to the social distancing measures in place, all sessions are offered as Teletherapy. This involves using secure video links e.g. FaceTime, Zoom or telephone.

Many people are experiencing increased levels of anxiety and low mood in response to the current public health concerns. This is understandable and there are many resources available in the media and online to help with this.

For those who were experiencing mental health difficulties prior to this, or whose existing mental health difficulties have been exacerbated by this, psychological therapy may well be appropriate. I am happy to discuss this and the method of teletherapy with anyone considering therapy**

I am a consultant clinical psychologist with over 24 years clinical experience within the NHS. I am now in private practice, offering psychological therapy for a wide range of adult mental health difficulties. I also offer therapy for couples and for families supporting someone with mental health difficulties.

Mental health or emotional problems range from mild anxiety or stress to more complex and severe problems. They are part of what makes us human, but they can all have a significant impact on our lives, affecting relationships, work, physical health and general well being.

Psychological therapy involves working together using psychological expertise and your own expertise in yourself to help increase understanding of your difficulties and to help identify and implement interventions that may help to reduce emotional distress and bring significant changes to your mental wellbeing and to the quality of your life.

Seeking help can be daunting, especially if you're not used to talking about your problems. Rest assured that, in my experience, the vast majority of people find it helpful to talk in a safe, professional and confidential environment. I would be happy to have an initial chat on the phone to help decide if I can be of help to you.
