Dr Beck graduated from the University of Manchester with her medical degree, she trained initially as a GP while at the same time completing a MSc in Sport and Exercise Medicine. Between 2012-2016 she worked for the MOD as the doctor based at the regional rehabilitation unit as well as working with elite sports people. She has extensive travel experience with teams such as the GB diving squad, Scotland Rugby, England Rugby, GB Ultimate and in 2012 worked at the London Olympics and 2014 at the Commonwealth games.
As a result of her background she is able to offer specialist services from diagnosis and treating musculoskeletal (MSK) injuries as well as advising more generally on areas such as sports nutrition. in addition to being a specialist Sports Doctor, she is also a qualified GP so has a broad depth of knowledge. Services include: diagnosis and treatment of MSK problems, MSK ultrasound, ultrasound guided injections, biomechanical assessment, sports nutrition, sports medicals, physical activity guidance and assessment.
With the Medical Services being integrated within the other healthcare and exercise services at Life Fit, referral to other clinicians and exercise professionals is simple and easy.

Dr Beck holds a number of posts that include but not exclusively: Chief Medical Officer, Hamilton Park Racecourse. She works as a contractor for Scottish Rugby and the British Diving team. She has worked within the sport of diving since 2013 and covered the European Diving Championships in 2018 and the World Series in London in 2019. She is also interested in education and currently holds external tutor posts with the University of St Andrews and AECC University College.
Dr Beck's main area of specialism and research interest lies around the use of ultrasound for diagnostic imaging. Her research on wrist injuries in competitive divers won national recognition in 2018.
Dr Alethea Beck is a keen sportswoman and there are few sports she has not tried or enjoys. In the summer she can be found trail running, paddle boarding, on the golf course or rock climbing while in the winter: ski-touring, mountain biking, mountaineering and running with her dog in the sport of Cani-cross. Most Saturdays she can be found at a local parkrun around Scotland as she is currently trying to complete all the parkruns in Scotland to raise awareness of the benefit of being active.
