My experience with ten cases of congenital choanal atresia led me to develop a new method of using endotracheal tubes for stenting, the results of eight cases of which were published in 1997. The absence of commercially available easy-to-use stent for this condition spurred me to develop a design of my own. Patent No (GB 9918973.0) & (US 6,606,995B1).This has been manufactured by Exmoor Plastics and is now available commercially.
