About me
After graduating from Edinburgh Medical School, I underwent higher surgical training in Otolaryngology in the Yorkshire deanery, training on both the Leeds and Sheffield rotations. During my training I undertook higher research which resulted in being awarded a MD research degree.
After gaining my CCT, I undertook two prestigious clinical fellowships in Toronto, working with Professor John Rutka at Toronto General Hospital in neurotology and skull base surgery and with Professor Blake Papsin at the Hospital for Sick Children in paediatric cochlear implantation.
Following my fellowship, I was appointed as a full-time NHS consultant at Sheffield Children’s Hospital, Royal Hallamshire Hospital and Bradford Royal Infirmary where I have a tertiary adult and paediatric ENT practice, focusing primarily on otology, neuro-otology, hearing implantation including cochlear implantation and lateral skull base surgery.
I have presented at national and international meetings and have published 40 peer reviewed papers and 10 book chapters. I am a regular faculty member on regional temporal bone courses as well as FRCS revision courses.
I am a member of the British Cochlear Implant Group and have recently been elected as a member of the British Society of Otology Council.
