About me

I am a qualified Integrative Psychotherapist, and also hold a qualification in Integrative Psychodynamic Counselling. I trained in these capacities for six years, and have been seeing individual clients in a variety of statutory, third sector, and private services since 2010.

I am able to assist with a wide range of personal difficulties around mental health and wellbeing, including: depression, anxiety, personal development, personal identity, relationships, and trauma. My specialist skills are in supporting people who have experienced sexual violence and abuse. I also offer therapeutic support for partners, family members, and friends of sexual abuse survivors.

Anyone can be affected by mental health problems. Therefore, I welcome enquiries from those who identify at any point on the gender spectrum (including men, women, and non-binary people), and those who reject it completely. I offer a LGBTQIA+ affirmative service, in addition to working in a way that welcomes persons from a diverse range of ethnic and cultural backgrounds.

I work primarily from a trauma-informed and relational perspective, often using an embodied approach to talking therapy. This includes using psychodynamic, attachment, and intersubjectivity theories to work with clients. I am trained in the Re-Wind Technique, which helps to alleviate the symptoms of trauma.

Working from an integrative perspective allows me to tailor my approach to each individual person. I am a pro-active participant in the work we do together. This is because I understand that when you are ready to start psychotherapy, you want to feel you are moving forward with the changes you want to make.

When you contact me, I will offer some time to have a brief phone call with you which is free of charge. This gives you the opportunity to ask me anything you want to know including how I work, and what to expect, as I appreciate seeing a professional can feel like a big step. I can also to find out a little more about you to see if my skills, and experience match up with what you need.

We can set up a first appointment to explore this further, if this feels like a helpful next step. You’re welcome to take time to think about whether I’m the right person to work with, as this is important in feeling comfortable during the process of personal development and change.

If you need to talk, get in touch. I’d be pleased to hear from you and see how I might be able to help you. I offer appointments online, or face-to-face in Leeds.
