About me
I am a dedicated clinical psychologist and have worked in the NHS since 1999. I have many years of clinical practice with clients with a wide range of psychological and physical health difficulties.
I am currently Lead for Physical Health Psychology at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and have a particular clinical interest in cancer and palliative care. I have also worked for many years in an NHS psychological therapies service in Nottingham City.
I am experienced in offering consultation, clinical supervision and training to medical staff and allied health professionals in psychological skills.
Areas of interest
I work with a range of difficulties including anxiety; depression; post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD); stress; adjustment; bereavement.
I work with adult patients and adult family members/carers, with a wide range of physical, psychological and neuropsychological difficulties (including those struggling with the psychological consequences of physical health problems including cancer and other life-limiting conditions, from pre-diagnosis through to palliative and end of life stage). I use psychological approaches for the management of physical symptoms including pain. I also offer pre-surgical assessments.
I use a range of evidence-based psychological models including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) and other mindfulness-based approaches.
