About me

Dr Shouvik Haldar is a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist who treats NHS and private patients at Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals.

He gained his medical degree at Guy's and St Thomas' Medical School (now part of King's College London) and then completed general medical training in Oxford. Following that he completed his cardiology training in the North West Thames area, with sub-specialty training at Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals.

He spent time at the University of Toronto, Canada, where he completed further training in electrophysiology and devices.

In July 2017, Dr Haldar took up his role as a consultant at Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals where he regularly treats patients with cardiac problems and symptoms such as palpitations, dizziness and blackouts, chest pain, shortness of breath, family history of cardiac disease, high blood pressure and heart murmurs.

Dr Haldar takes pride in effective communication with patients. He takes time to explain tests and treatments, ensuring that patients are fully informed and are involved in all aspects of their care.

He performs interventional procedures to treat heart rhythm disorders, including the
insertion of pacemakers and defibrillators, cardiac resynchronization therapy, ablation therapy including treatment of supraventricular, atrial and ventricular arrhythmias.

He is also experienced in diagnostics and imaging including 12 lead ECG and transthoracic echocardiography.
