I offer assessment and therapy to help support and develop your psychological wellbeing. I am a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist working with adults. My doctoral training provided me with the experience of working in a number of different modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I continue to work in an integrative way in my current practice, drawing on a range of different approaches to best meet individual need.
Since qualification I have continued to develop my knowledge and skills completing a 3-year core training in Experiential Dynamic Therapy (EDT). EDT is a collaborative approach which focuses on the importance of experiencing rather than avoiding feelings. When feelings are blocked, this can lead to a range of symptoms or presenting problems, such as anxiety, depression or other mental health difficulties. Sometimes issues might present in regard to a person’s physical health, however no specific medical cause can be found. Paying more attention to emotions and developing our capacity to experience them, can help us to become more connected to what is important in our lives, enabling us to act in ways that are more in line with this. It may also help to develop a stronger sense of self and in turn deeper, more connected relationships with others.
