I have worked for over 30 years in the National Health Service, and the last 22 years specifically in a Mental Health environment providing counselling and psychotherapy, in addition to private practice providing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Brief Solution Focused Therapy. This has involved both brief and long-term face-to-face therapy work. I have also been able to offer Telephone Counselling. My counselling and psychotherapy practice has developed from many years of experience and training in a range of therapy skills and techniques; this enables clients to navigate their way through current life crises in addition to historical and unresolved painful issues, and move towards the effective self-management of their life situation.
The locus of the counselling and psychotherapy work helps to confront and explore the issues which impact upon cognitive, behavioural and emotional reactions to life crises and traumas.
