About me

I am a Consultant Psychiatrist with a wide range of experience in adult and old age psychiatry. Prior to my training as a psychiatrist, I worked in surgery and general medicine. I remain interested in new developments and keep up-to-date with medical progress. I believe it is very important for psychiatric patients to have thorough physical health monitoring because often there is a significant overlap between symptoms.
I have worked as a psychiatrist in the NHS and independent sector for more than twenty years and am on a specialist GMC register in forensic psychiatry. After 15 years in forensic field, I moved into general and old age psychiatry where I have worked for the past 7 years.
I am an optimist and my outlook on life and work is positive. I enjoy working in psychiatry because it is a dynamic field of medicine, and it enables me to apply and develop my skills as a doctor, psychiatrist and therapist.
