About me
Mr Feras Al Jaafari is a consultant urologist at Spire MurrayField Hospital and NHS Fife with a special interest in stone disease and LASER prostate surgery. He completed his medical and basic surgical training at “Gr T Popa” university in Iasi, Romania. He completed his urological training in the East of England region having had a broad exposure to endourology, uro-oncology and robotic surgery.
He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS) and a fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU). He developed a sub-speciality interest in stone pathology and LASER prostate surgery.
His training included a uro-oncology fellowship to “UZ Leuven University Hospital” in Belgium, and multiple visits to leading European training centres sharpening his skills in endourology and LASER prostatectomy (PCNL, anatomical GreenLight PVP, GreenLEP, HoLEP). He is a keen surgical trainer and is a national GreenLight LASER proctor.
He offers all aspects of stone management (Flexible Uretero-renoscopy, standard and mini-PCNL, multidisciplinary metabolic assessment), LASER prostate surgery (XPS Greenlight LASER and HoLEP), extra-anatomical urinary diversion (internalising nephrostomy tubes) for benign and malignant ureteric strictures, general and diagnostic urology.
Hobbies: Shotokan karate (black belt) and table tennis
