About me

I am a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and have been in post at East and North Herts Trust Stevenage and Pinehill Hospital Hitchin since 1995. I am also the Divisional Chair for Women’s Services for the Trust, which is the Clinical Lead for the department with responsibility for clinical governance/risk management, development of the service and financial management

My Obstetrics and Gynaecolgy training was with South West Thames including St George’s University Hospital and St Helier University Hospital; I also worked at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital and Homerton University Hospital. As part of my training I also rotated through surgical specialities to gain the FRCS qualification but also to optimise my surgical skills.

I have a broad gynaecological training and my private practice at Pinehill Hospital reflects my nhs practice. This includes the management of a wide range of gynaecological problems including menstrual disorders, heavy periods, pelvic pain, endometriosis, fibroids, prolapse, bladder problems including incontinence and menopausal problems. I have expertise in hysteroscopic surgery including under local anaesthetic [such as ablation for heavy periods and removal of polyps/fibroids] and laparoscopic [keyhole] surgery. These will often avoid the need for more major surgery.

I am a member of The British Menopause Society and The British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy.

I pride myself on the personal care I provide for my patients. I have had no personal complaints at Pinehill Hospital. I have annual appraisals, which include feedback from patients. In my last appraisal in November 2014, all patients surveyed were confident in my ability to provide care and all would be completely happy to see me again.
