About me
Mark Snelling (MA Oxon, PGDip, MSc) is a counsellor and psychotherapist in private practice, with 15 years’ clinical experience. He responds to a broad spectrum of difficulties, including depression, anxiety, relationship problems and burnout, as well as more severe and enduring mental illnesses. He has particular expertise in psychological trauma and has supported many clients through the aftermath of overwhelming events, both in the UK and overseas. Other key areas of experience include workplace stress and addiction.
He has worked with a great diversity of clients from a range of social, cultural, ethnic and faith groups. He also has long experience of supporting expatriates, including aid workers, missionaries, journalists, medics, diplomats and military personnel.
A psychodynamic therapist by training, he is also an accredited EMDR practitioner and holds an MSc in Therapeutic Practice for Psychological Trauma from the University of Chester. He published his first research into humanitarian relationships in 2018 and is currently working towards certification in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an attachment-based treatment for individuals and couples.
